What numbers are on the ICs? No mod left them alone

The early Peavey mod's, done at the factory, didn't change the IC's. That was done later when they came out with a Mod Kit.

The NV400 I had, built in April or May of 96 was modded by the service department before it was sent to me. It went through production and then to the service department for the mod and then to the Music Store. The IC's were still the original IC's. In that time frame the only Peavey factory mod was done by the service department. The store I ordered it through (Jed's Music in North Kansas City) let me talk to Mike Brown about the mod. Mike Brown stated that he was going to make the mod a production engineering change. And the next batch of NV400's that were made (Sept 96) were built with the engineering change (mod).

Thus, on some, it would take looking at capacitor and resistor values that were changed in the mod to ascertain if it had been moded.

However, if it has the early Lemay mods, he changed IC's but they are painted over (part number obliterated). When Peavey came out with the user mod Kit, they too changed IC's and the Peavey mod is identical to the Lemay except for one capacitor that Peavey chose not to change the value (that cap adds additional low end in the Lemay Mod).
