Is anyone using one of these for a preamp? Or, tried one for Preamp? Not necessarily for an overdrive, but as a clean pre? I've read a lot of positive reviews on it for guitar.
Thanks

I haven't heard of anybody using one as a preamp, either for guitar or lap steel.

I tried the Boss FDR (Fender Deluxe Reverb) pedal for my lap steel, but it was too distorted. (broke up too quickly)I was hoping for a mostly clean slightly "warmed" tube amp sound...
I am still looking for "that sound" most guitar pedals fuzz out the steel IMHO

I used one for a while (along with an RV3) in front of a small Fender bass amp. Space was very limited at one job so needed a rig with a small footprint. While the unit did sweeten up the tone of the stock amp quite noticeably, for use in a main setup there may be better choices.
