I just got this amp yesterday, so it is new to me and I have a couple of questions about the two controls on the back of the amp.
# 1 The on / off switch on the back that is labeled Resonance and with the two choices Tight or Loose, how is it supposed to help? I am using the clean channel, not the guitar (dirty) channel, if that makes any difference. I have pushed it in and out, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe it only works on the dirty channel?
#2 The chicken beak rotary knob labeled Texture. All the way to the left, it is Class A, low power. All the way to the right it is Class A / B, full power. Where would this most likely need to be set for steel? My guess is full power, since I am using a volume pedal, but it is only a guess. I am not familar with tube amps, so I don't know what Class A vs. Class A / B means. Can somebody elaborate on this just a tad to educate me.
Thanks for the help that I know I am going to get. I don't know how we got by before our forum family. |

George, set the chicken head knob in the back at AB full.
As for the resonance knobs I have mine with the left one at almost full left and the right at about 2:00. They don't make a great deal of difference but just experiment to find the right place. They are fairly subtle in the changes they make.
Also be sure all the knobs on the lead or dirty channel are in the full "off" position. Even though you may be set on the "clean" channel you will get some strange bleed through tones that will not be nice on steel. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

Bill, we have different models of amps. I don't have two controls for the resonance, just one. It is just a round button, push in or out for tight or loose. Sounds like the way I like my women.
And yes, I did have the controls on the dirty side all the way off. Just seemed like the logical thing to do. |

On the 112, it's just a switch. When engaged, the bottom end gets deeper and fatter.
Given that us steelers like it fatter, I think I'd engage it. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
