Very nice. Love the swamp ash.

What kind of pups do you have in there?. Looks like an un-matched set....which can lead to some sonic fun.

Hi Steve, Thanks. The pickups are a Lollar F-Spaced Imperial Humbucker in the neck Position and a Lollar Chicago Steel in the Bridge Position. With a blend pot in the middle of the volume and tone controls you can dial in what you like.

Yeah, I think they've been gone for over two years and going on three.

I had an interest in getting one built in either late 2015 or early 2016 and received an email from the company that no orders were going to be taken that year.

I contacted a couple of well known pros who played these guitars and they didn't have much information, all they'd heard was that due to some personal issues the company was temporarily shut down.

Unless someone chimes in to tell us otherwise, at this point I'm thinking "temporarily" has likely become "permanently."

Don't know about his steels but he has a great reputation among 6 string players. Really good builder from all I've seen.

Way too bad that Scantic is not building. Classy forward-looking guitars.

I would expect Creston could very easily fill the void, his work is impeccable. He may not want to though..who knows. He’s agreed to build one for me, another local steel player, Brett Lanier has one, they are pictured on the web site

Guys, there is no shortage of quality lap steels being built these days - on the higher end it might be on a scale of 1 to 10 some of the finest lap guitars built in history as the instrument has experienced a resurgence in recent years.

I've acquired two new and one used modern lap steel since I had an interest in the Scantic River guitar which never happened.

But I would have liked to have had a shot at getting one of these for myself, too bad they didn't make it.

Or maybe there will be a comeback at some point, you never know.
