Western wear has become traditional for Country singers over the years. How many performers are known to have carried loaded sidearms while on stage?
(Let's avoid this tab becoming sidetracked into a discussion of gun control, please, and stick to the question. ) |

Hopefully NONE. It's ridiculous. If you're playing in a place where you would need one, you might need to find a new place to play. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Most states that allow carriage prohibit carriage where alcohol is sold. For good reason. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I am sad to say that Tennesee would be one of those states that does allow allow handguns in venues that sell alcohol. |

A lot of cowboy singers in the 50's performed armed, but it was the movies…

Richard, sad to say that the people in the movie theater that got shot weren't in a place where they felt any danger.
I've had concealed carry permits in several states and found that if people know you "might" be armed, they're less likely to get aggressive. I don't even own a gun here in New Jersey and the permit just to buy one could take months to be granted. I saw a bumper sticker in Princeton, a liberal bastion, saying "guns kill people like spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat". |

Ben, I have little problem with responsible gun owners carrying. Sadly, there are FAR too many of the other kind. And, since most gigs are in bars, carrying in the presence of alcohol reduces responsibility in all people. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

My idea of responsible of gun-ownership is:
If I'm "carrying" then no drinking
If I'm drinking, then no "carrying" |
