Truitt Cunningham RIP

Post by Earl Calvert »

Just heard through the grapevine that we lost another Texas Playboy...Truitt Cunningham passed away on June 5th.

One of the greatest events in my life was when Truitt was running the Playboys for the Bob Wills Birthday weekend at Cains in 1996. On the noon broadcast on KVOO, Truitt dedicated 'Little Cocquette' to me and even mentioned that I had traveled all the way from Seattle...a great singer, bass player, bandleader and completely dedicated to the authentic Bob Wills sound. Thanks Truitt! Have fun playing with Bob's Swing Band in Heaven! e

Such a fun guy to be around. Lots of stories.

My condolences to his family and close friends.

I enjoyed our visits at the Western Swing shows that I attended. He will be missed by a lot of folks...
