***ZB Custom***L00K**For Sale($1300 shipped in cont USA)
I'm selling my ZB (hornless) Custom. Price is $1300 plus shipping. This guitar has been rebuilt by me with modern under carriage and bell cranks. The guitar is not as red as the photos show. Guitar in good shape with few bar dings on top side.
This guitar plays and sounds good. I would not recommend this guitar if you are not a good tinkerer. Even though it plays good and stays in tune good, things could slip and cause a problem. If you are a good hands on person, would be easy to fix. About like a P/P to work on. It has never happened to me and have played this guitar out quite a bit with no problem.
I bought just to see if I could improve the old crossbar mechanism without any draw backs and think that I did. I saw not difference in tone from original crossbars to bell cranks. This guitar has pedal noise bleeding in to the pickups but not noticeable when playing with a band. It did before converted to bell cranks. If I kept, I would replace pickups so they are mounted on springs or foam. These are mounted to body of guitar.
The E9th neck uses the yoke type mechanics for pulls and lowers which works great and smooth. The C6th neck has compression springs like a P/P and also works great. Right now has Day setup but can easily be changed to Emmons or other. C6th is standard. It has 8 X 4. It is easy to add pulls or lowers to this guitar and you can make your own parts. It will include extra bell cranks that I didn't use. 4 or 5 I think. If you want any more info on this guitar, please email or PM me thru the forum. Also more pictures if wanted.
This would really make a nice 2nd guitar for someone because its a D-10 for $1500 and remember, you need to have some knowledge of under carriage as most P/P players.

No Mike, this was a model of ZB that was made after Tom Brumley took over company I was told. This is the only one I have ever seen but sure there are more out there. The cabinet hasn't been altered on top at all.w

Folks, I never got to hear Henry play this ZB, but I hear tell it sounds great. Henry knows how to build and setup a steel guitar for sure, and a great guy to deal with! That's one purty ZB Henry!

Good looking guitar , you did a great job on the undercarriage. If I had the money this would be my guitar . Some lucky guitarist out there will get a great deal on a great guitar .. Where in the world did you get all the parts to rebuild it ? I'm trying to finish a steel I started to build a couple of years ago , could use some help on getting the parts .
