Man! I just loved the way Bobbe Seymour played his Bigsby guitars. I'm glad I told him that while he was still here. So lush and beautiful. It just flat out smokes the sounds that many chord melody jazz guitarists make.

It's reassuring to see him holding the bar the same way I do. He was so good. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Thanks for posting that Andy. Sometimes people should be reminded that he was, first and foremost, a steel guitarist, and not just a tradesman.
Notice that he plays without finger picks, only a thumbpick, and I believe that that contributed to his mellow sound. Notice also that he doesn't do a lot of bar movement; he plays mainly with his feet.

Check this out to hear a real master at work.
People often ask about playing bluegrass on pedal steel, and Bobbe's abilities give no doubt as to the answer. |

Tone to the bone...he was definitely one-of-a-kind.
We'll never see another like him... |
