I just played a gig with Gary Lee Gimble friday night and he had his brand spankin' new Zum with him. Thing looked and souded about as purdy as all get out. I forgot to ask him any details though, I was too dumbfounded by his astounding playing. The rat bastard is just too darn good, I couldn't steal (pardon the pun) any licks from him. |

He's always played with his toy, though I don't think it could be called "new"...... oh, you meant the guitar, never mind. |

I am also extremely happy with my all pull Zum.
I love the way it plays and sounds. I am sure the new type push pull changer will sound great and appeal to many players, but it may not be for everybody. I think Bruce is right on the money by offering it as an option while continuing to build the standard all pull. This way, we all can have what suits our ears and our playing styles. No matter which one you chose, you can't go wrong with a Zum. |

Dave, it's a two-tone, I'll e-mail Gary and alert him to this subject and maybe he'll be kind enough to jump in and give you the low-down |

When I talked to Bruce Zumsteg about a month ago at his shop, he said the new design is still in the testing phases. Don't think they are available yet.

Chris, I need to be careful and not look down, I might poke myself in the eye. Details to follow later on when I can sham a little more at work or when I get home

Dave, I went to Home Depot and searched through all their laminate to find one that has a finish similar to my dining room table. Deep cherry, heavy with figures and a shine that would show ones reflection. The top of my guitar is of a different finish, burley blonde maple. Bruce suggested a garnish of pearl inlay on the front body. My D-10 has 9 floor pedals with the Emmons set up starting on pedal #2. Pedal # 1 or A pedal lowers 5 & 10 one half step. Pedals 1 - 5 work on E9 with pedal # 5 also doing a change on C6th. I have 7 knee levers.
I can only add that Bruce is just as attentive to detail in the customer service area too. Its not like I order a new guitar every two years and there are some things I just don't know that he filled in the gaps. Bruce not knowing that I am a hard person to please, came through with the full brigade! |

I'm very happy with my U-12 ZumSteel. It took 9 months to get, but, was worth every minute waiting for. Bruce is a fine gentleman and a superb craftsman at what he does.I couldn't have had a smoother deal done anywhere.A picture of it is posted in last Junes E&A slot. |

Sounds Beautiful Gary... and I bet it Sounds Beautiful too in your capable hands...
Bruce is a prince among men as far as I am concerned.
I hope to see/hear you play it sometime soon!
What PU's are in it? and do you have the "new" changer? |

Dave, the new changer was not available when my guitar was assembled and my pick ups of choice are the 910s which are wound to 30k. At the end of March, my band will be in Gettysburg, PA at a joint called The Flying Bull Saloon. How far are you from Gettysburg? |

Flying Bull? Sounds like what comes out of my guitar when I play!! Dave, it does sound purdy, fortunately I didn't have my picks with me that night, so I didn't ruin it by playing it |
