Almost mint 1936 Oahu Jumbo Deluxe Hawaiian

Cool to see this rare guitar in such beautiful condition. Dobro/Steel master Pete Grant owns one of these and speaks highly of its sound. Note that they allow you to download hi-res images plus the original catalog page.

I used to own a less deluxe version of this same guitar, and I've played Pete Grant's guitar. They're really nice sounding instruments - nowhere near the tone or volume of a resonator guitar, but then again, they're not designed to be.

That's in beautiful shape, too. Thanks for sharing!

i wonder how the tops are braced? looks like some kind of ladder bracing but hard to tell from the pics.

Some were ladder and some were x-braced. All the examples I've seen were laminated Brazilian.

The seller says it's ladder braced.

I've seen and heard Pete's and am pretty sure his is a Teacher's model.
Not in as pristine a condition but much fancier details on the body...lots of scrolling etc.
But it does sound wonderfully rich.
I remember him telling me he used it in a studio session and the engineer was blown away by it's tone.
