tiple

Post by Dana Blodgett »

I know of one for sale in Oxnard Ca. @ Guitar Center as of two weeks ago-looked in good shape. It was a Martin. I have also stumbled across two others(Martin) on Craigs list, not sure of what city (Ca.), One has 28 style inlays.
The one in Oxnard was $900 the others were $1500 or more.Good luck, I was sorely tempted to get the one in Oxnard, as I am a Martin freak as I've had four in my life and still have 3.

Martin tiples

Post by Glenn Uhler »

New Martin tiples were still available from Martin as recently as 1988 according to Mike Longworth's book. Because they are relatively scarce, they have gotten quite pricey. The ones on eBay and Craigslist are kind of a crap-shoot. It's sometimes hard to pinpoint the maker and some of the less well-known ones often have structural issues. Take a close look before you buy!

Hi Eddie

I remember from my earliest pickin' days that the father of our old friend, Don Edwards, had a tiple in his Milton home. You might go to Don's website & shoot an e-mail off to him. Maybe he or his sister Judy still has the instrument.
