I'll be getting a new Melbert 8 string lap steel in a few weeks and have a choice of George L 10-1 or BL 705. I would appreciate any thoughts on the two choices. Thanks,George. |

It would help if you told us what kind of music you plan to play. And maybe what kind of amp you will be using. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

My opinion and taste here: a Jerry Wallace 8-string TrueTone. Or Jason Lollar StringMaster PUs. I let others chime in on which George-L to use. You might read the PU discussions for Herb Remington's non-pedal steels. See his web page. I recall Rick Alexander and Cindy Cashdollar finding one they liked. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

Thanks Jim,
Really enjoyed our visit. You certainly have everything a steel player could want, including over 30 quality pedal steels in stock. I would encourage anyone planning a visit to Southern California to be sure and visit Jim and see his great steel store. |
