Thanks for bringing the SuperSlide to my attention. It's got some great features.
I thought about coming up with something like that "freedom bar" for my lap steel years ago. I used to tour more and concluded the audience finds seated musicians boring but I never did follow through with the idea.

Here is a Semi Hollowbody we made for one of our Nashville players. Maple cap on Mahogany body.
