In 2009 I was the sub steel player on Always Patsy at 14th Street Playhouse, a reputable serious theatre in Atlanta. Well known Patsy artist Cindy Summers was the star. I believe it paid about $100.00. It ran several weeks and I did 6 or seven sets I guess. It was a great experience!

This production is at a local college, and paying $80.00 per service. Too bad it's a 60+ mile drive in traffic! I'm mainly doing it because it's good for my reading and chops.

How about that ending lick in "20 Fans Reprise"?!

I used to do that (it's in A) on the 5thand 6th string with the A pedal then lift the bar and finish it in the open position (strings 5,4,6). It's quite easy when you do it like that!

In this version it's in D. I'm doing it at fret V using the A + B pedals and strings 1,3,4,5,6. The tempo makes it a challenge.

I played this production years ago, over twenty i think. The music director cut the score to bits. I studied the original recordings, the presented charts, scores, etc. Did not help after he cut it to bits so mostly I tried to play something at fit. The violin players were out of the local union and had no idea what any of it should sound like. It was a bit of pressure but a great experience for me. I would do it again if the opportunity came up.
