That depends on whether you want an old U.S. made or one of the newer reissues...?

Then I think you're gonna have to watch some of the vintage music stores, or classified ads or even Ebay. Personally, I wouldn't trust Ebay these days on something like that. Gruhn Guitars http://gruhn.com or Elderly Instruments http://www.elderly.com/ often have several old Gretsches, and I've seen some newer ones there too lately. You might pay a little more but these kinds of stores can be trusted more than Ebay or an unknown personal seller. There are many other vintage guitar stores on the internet, but I can't vouch for them. I've seen some really ridiculous prices at some of them. Gruhn's is a pretty good base for comparing vintage guitar store prices.
[This message was edited by Jim Phelps on 27 October 2004 at 01:52 PM.]

Hi Buck,

I've got a new "'62 Country Classic" (Country Gentleman reissue) in stock. It's walnut color, double cutaway, simulated F-holes, etc., gold Grover Imperial tuners, etc. These new guitars are even better than the old ones, and that's not just my opinion, but the opinion of many. Email me at rick@tarheelmusic.com if you need more info.

Buck, if you do any kind of search be sure to spell it Gretsch or you will get no response. I have a 60s Chet Atkins Gretsch Country Gentleman in mint condition. It is one of my instrument treasures. Hope you find what you are looking for. I also have a new Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. I would not rule this one out.

I don,t know if you'd be interested in a Tennessee Rose, or even if it's still available but Terry Hollifield recently had one for sale. Supposed to be in super condition, walnut finish, I believe and the price sounded really fair at the time we talked about it.

You could Email him at terryh@swofford.k12.sc.us

I bought one of the New Nashville 6120N model that i think were only made for a yr or 2 and i like it better than any of the others. Its a bit 1.75" thinner w/sharp cutaway. Does anybody know how many were made? This should be a real good collectors pc. I never play mine and may consider selling it.
