Well fellow steelers I had my stroke a week ago, at home. It was a minor. I need to exercises as soon as can to be able to build me right hand. Anyone have things you did using the steel to help?
Thanx,
Jim Bates

Jim ...I had a similar experience in 1993..but mine wasn't caused by a stroke. I had a Meningioma (Brain tumour) removed. After that I couldn't even wind up a small clock, and I could not feel the steel strings under my right hand. A nerve had been damaged..(one of the risk of any surgery), and it took several months to re grow. For my problem it was a matter of time. It may be the same for you. Be positive and keep using that right hand...do exercises...even gripping a tennis ball daily. I wish you well

Hey Jim, I see you play pedal and your stroke was minor.I played pedal as well but my one side was shot and I couldn't work the pedals correctly. My wife got me a lap steel and I played that for therapy when the hand started to come back. Listen to your rehab people and keep on exercising,it takes time. Chuck
