Bobbe was my inspiration to play pedal steel. His encouragement, generosity and openness was just so inspiring. RIP

In one way or another, Bobbe touched everybody in the steel guitar world....and he did everything his way.....a great loss to all of us....

I did have the pleasure of meeting Bobbe several years ago when he played the PSGA show in CT......I picked him, Russ Hicks, and Randy Beavers up at the airport in NY and drove them to the hotel in CT.....you can imagine hilarity during the one hour ride.....what a thrill for me.....

R.I.P. Bobbe........and my deepest sympathy goes out to your family and loved ones......

very sad, I am honored to have crossed paths with Bobbe in my lifetime. There was never had a dull moment in Bobbe's company. He had a million stories , had a million friends and used it all for the greater good. And he was one hell of a picker too..

Whenever I had the chance to visit Bobbe in the store as he was sittin' around yappin, he would greet me with " here comes Tony Prior, he's always wanted to play Steel guitar in the worst way, and now he does"...

RIP Bobbe, will miss you...

So sad to hear this. Bobbe and I literally went back to the day I was born. He played steel on my Dad's shows that he brought in to Norfolk, VA. A dear friend, and quite the character. He will be greatly missed.

bobbe was a larger than life personality that lived and breathed steel guitar- ..
There were never enough people like that, and now we are down another..
The one thing I will always remember Bobbe for was really quite a simple statement and was written on these pages years ago..
"I am a fan of ALL steel guitarists"...... RIP Bobbe..

I hated to hear this news. The only time I met Bobbe was in '09 when I visited his store. He treated me like he'd known me all my life. After a bit, he asked, "Do you have the CD I made with Jimmy Day? No? Well you do now, 'cause I'm giving it to you." He gave me a handful of his CDs that day, and I'm sure many of you have had identical experiences. Prayers for Bobbe's family and all those close to him.

I got the news about Bobbe shorty after it happened last night. I'm speechless right now, and there are no words can express how empty I feel. Bobbe was there when I started the NTSGA back in 2000. Also I still have the little red Sho-Bud he sold me almost 30 years ago. Bobbe helped me so much to get into Steel Guitar and I'll always miss him and appreciate him. DeeDee & myself send out our deepest sympathys to the Seymour family.

I will sure miss my friend. He was so good to me and everybody else. I hope the store keeps going and everybody still goes there, That is what Bobby would want!!!!!!!

Bobbe was a special kind of guy for sure. The last time I was at the store, Bobbe was there. He wasn't feeling all that good, but he sat and told some great stories. Then he took me a couple of doors down and showed me his personal collection of guitars. And oh yeah, we talked about one of his other passions...his cars! That day will be a great memory for me forever. RIP, my friend.

Could't believe this when I opened up my computer this mourning. Never met Bobbe, but talked to him on the phone and ordered some of his material and merchandise over the years. Our prayers go out to the family...very sad day!

I made it a point to see Bobbe a few months ago. I was delighted that my timing was good. Bobbe had just learned that Reese had passed. His demeanor was much different than the last time I had seen him. Had gone through a lot of changes in the previous few years..I know Pam took good care of him in the twilight of his life..and I know for that, he was thankful..I think I knew it would be the last time I would see him here on earth..And, I shook his hand...and said goodbye... RIP Bob.. Mick
