Curious: Why are there two lines for every fret
position, rather than the traditional one line?
I've never seen a fretboard laid out this way
and wonder what the rationale behind it might
have been: When to use which line, etc.

Hi Russ. I've got a double 8 at the shop and the two lines that you see are depressed outlines of the raised fret in between the lines and are common w bakelite necked Ricks.
