Not Steel But "Bend" Related-B&W B Benders

Post by Bob Poole »

I am familiar with Greg Cutshaw's well detailed page with the photos & info on the B&W Telecaster B Bender by Bill Warford...just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with the Warford B bender...any comments, thoughts as to their quality? ease of operation(or not? stiffness?,any problems with upkeep?breakage?)Thanks

Lots more info at tdpri telecaster forum. They seem to be well received.

I have had four different guitars with the b bender instaled, and was quite satisied with all of them. I now have Telecaster with the BW bender in it and the quality and ease of operation is second to none. The guitar stays in tune and I don't have to retune the bend on it. In my opinion it is the best one that I have tried. I am going to keep mine for sure. Chuck :P

When I hear about a B & W Bender, I think about the Blankenship & Wheeler Benders made in the 1959 - 1960 period, which were called B & W Benders. Earliest ones I ever have seen.

How does it compare with the Duesenberg MultiBender?

I second TDPRI as a great resource. They have a whole b bender section.
The B&W benders get great reviews.
I decided to have Forrest Lee Jr install a bender in my Tele and I've been really happy with it. His benders are very adjustable as far as the length and tension of the pull (and I'm sure most others are as well).
Forrest is a forum member so if you're looking for a bender you might look him up.

I am not a fan of the "belt puller" G benders. But,,,, I've only played them a couple of times, and maybe I'd get used to it. I've used a Hipshot with B and G benders, and three toggles to drop into Low Bass G Tuning for Dobro and Bottleneck stuff. Very, Very handy on stage!
