Chris,
The guys are russler have already solved that issues. They have made many guitars like that. The ones that I have seen blend very nice. It I am correct, the photo above the mica has already been applied and you can't tell it because it is covered in blue tape to protect the finish. These guys are good at their craft and I don't think this will be an issues at all based on other guitars they have done in the past.

Update
Guys thank you for your comments and posts. Not aiming to resurrect an old topic; but wanted to show progress and updates.
Natural obviously won the poll, and I originally wanted teal, but with the input I axed the teal color. I personally see the beauty in the grain and natural would look amazing, but I felt like the inlays would get lost unless it had a color against them. Such hard work in those inlays I didn't want to loose them.
On another note a color application would loose some grain pattern. What to do. Well I decided on a rich read color and the Professionals over at Russtler shined. Below is a photo of her in the finishing stages. I was amazed at the outcome. Can't wait to get her in my hands.
I certainly plan on keeping this guitar. I had one made for me because I never want to buy another one again. Now if I can just keep the little ones from writing their names on it. Hide those crayons.
