Help with a LDG

Howdy folks, My name is Matt and I wanted to introduce myself. I've wanted to learn PSG for a while now and finally picked up a rig. It's a LDG and in an hour I had it setup and playing some basic chord changes and licks. In my opinion It's playable the way it is but the previous owner modded it. Right now it's a 2+1. The missing pedal concerns me because most all the parts are missing that go with it (cross shaft and bell cranks). Any way I wanted to see what you thought about a new player learning with it setup this way. Will it hinder me further down the road. I've seen precious few parts for the Sho-Buds.

It needs to be 3x4 in my opinion and James Morehead will have the parts you need to get her up to snuff.

parts? Looks like it was 3x4 at one time. Welcome

I won't try to get too technical with the names of parts, but I can give you a pedal, a cross shaft, the cross shaft apron hanger and the other L bracket, the two bellcranks, the pedal rod and rod end. Actually, I have a ton of bellcranks.

Are those the extra parts in the case? It looks like extra rods in the leg compartment.

I may have the complete knees for the guitar too. I know I have knees for earlier guitars, but maybe not yours.

Somewhere in the Google Machine there is an image of the old Sho-Bud parts catalogue which will help you figure out what is missing and allow you to communicate with others

Reminds me of something off-topic. What's up with Two-Pedal Terry Wendt? Hasn't been around here lately. It's been about a year since he's posted.

Thanks everybody for the encouraging responses. Yes Chris that is a bundle of extra rods in the leg compartment. The guy that owned it definitely liked to tinker. Everything I saw that the gentleman owned was modified heavily. Unfortunately he past away and left his son with a whole bunch of half finished projects that the son is selling because he is no spring chicken either. So what the owners vision with this 2+1 setup was I will never know. I'll look for that parts break down so I know exactly what parts I'm looking for.

I didn't meet his wife. She was out of town. Sounds like you might have an interesting story up your sleeve though.

It still never ceases to amaze me that people butcher beautiful guitars. What good would it do to take a pedal off?
Matt, once you get guitar upgraded to way should have been, will be a great axe.

Looks to me like the guy might started playing "way back when." Remember that Don Warden's first Shobud only had two pedals.

Yes the neck is cut out some. It looks like he had a pickup mounted in that spot at one time. You're right about a player from way back too. I saw some old posters an stuff from the 30's or 40's showing him playing lap steel.
