Had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Roger Williams
play dobro in my local theater this evening. He
appeared with Amy Gallatin and Stillwaters, a 4
piece acoustic band. I got the impression that he and Amy are significant others. Roger's son, JD
plays mandolin and the musicianship of this father
and son working together is amazing. Roger is the
best dobro player I have ever seen live, and has to be in the top ten working today. There are some videos of the band on you tube if you haven't seen
him play.

Roger is top notch and has been around for decades. He also taught dobro phenom Andy Hall (Infamous Stringdusters).

I believe all of his recorded output is currently available on CD and is well worth adding to your collection.

Yeah, he and Amy are a couple. She is a sweetie.

I get to see them next weekend at the Joe Val Bluegrass Fest in Framingham, MA.

Yes, Roger is a great player. I've corresponded with him a couple of times. Interesting that he taught Andy Hall, makes perfect sense.

His first recording was a vinyl release, so he's been around quite a while. I have that vinyl along with a couple other releases. Rodger is one of my Reso hero's along with St. Mike, and Jerry Douglas, and several others.

I absolutely love Roger. He is very inspiring player an extremely humble person. His son JD is really turning into a great mandolin player.

Howard, I'll see you at JV. I'll be on the sound crew on the showcase stage if you get a chance to come by and say hello.

OK Michael...

Looks like I'll have to dig out on Thursday in order to get on the road Fri.

I guess that is what the tractor is for!!
