BIG Tuning Wrench (Black/Red/Silver)--It's A Go!

Post by Carl Williams »

“The BIG Tuning Wrench” will be back! I hope to have them ready to go within the next month. It will be available in Black and Red as well as the original color of Silver (Aluminum). (See Photos Below) (Make sure you look at the last photo which shows the other "standard" tuning wrenches and how they size up next to the BIG Tuning Wrench) The dimensions of this wrench are: Shaft is 1.5" long; works on a 3/16" hex tuning nut and goes to a depth of 5/16" into the shaft. The Knob is 1.5" in diameter and the knurled turning surface width is 5/8". It's milled out of aluminum and anodized for color. The Black and Red wrenches will have a small hole drilled into the middle of the Knob in order to make the anodizing process easier. I sold the BIG Tuning Wrench for five years on the Forum but stopped in the fall of 2012. Now that I’ve retired for the second time (U.S. Air Force and State of Oklahoma), I have a little more time to do what I want to do (With the Wife’s/Boss’ supervision of course)! 

If you would like to get on a list (No obligations of course but only a “wish list” with potential buyers) for a wrench, please email me at: carlwilliams2@att.net and let me know the following:
1. Number of wrenches you would want?
2. Which wrench color(s) you would like?
3. What brand of steel you would be using the wrench on?

(Sales will be for the Lower 48 U.S. States Only)

Once again, there is no obligation but only a “wish list” with potential buyers. I’ll let you know the exact cost in my email response to you when the wrenches will be ready. The approximate cost of a colored wrench will be about the cost of an Extended E9th set of strings.(Silver will be a little cheaper)
Thanks, Carl
P.S. I’ve advised Michael Yahl of the possibility of selling the wrench again and hopefully he’ll be back in business soon…he’s got his version of the wrench and I was lucky enough to get the VERY first one! He’s a Master Machinist and the Forum/Steel Players everywhere are looking forward to his reopening of his business in Texas!

Hey John,
Thanks for the positive feedback on both the wrench and my Willy...My very first custom built steel I've ever had in my 40 years of practicing to learn the contraption! ;-) Holler if you decide you want a wrench...Take Care, Carl
p.s. Just an FYI, but Red is winning out for favorite color as of right now anyway...

I got 3 of these when they first came on the Forum and they sure simplify tuning and really help getting the settings where you want them accurately and very easy. Try it and I bet you would like it! Jack

Dallas Show

Post by Carl Williams »

Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for the inquiry...As of this time, I'll probably not make the Dallas show. The wrenches, if I get enough interest to go forward, wouldn't be ready by the Dallas show anyway. I'll add you to the Black and Red wish lists. Thanks again, Carl
