I've been tasked with playing the fiddle parts to "Wagon Wheel". I've found in the past that whenever I'm asked to "make my steel sound like a fiddle" I usually fall short.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kiev a 12 fret slide 8 string into key stay on 12th fret? I'll get more info later (from my tablet and late for church Sorry)

edtited: I think I may have answered your question wrong.
I`ve been trying to create a string section with little success, It comes close to a viola only.
You`ll just have to learn the fiddle cause nothing I do comes anywhere near close Smile [/b]

I just play the fiddle part with my normal steel sound, delay and reverb. It fits the song and I actually think it sounds better. There are lots of bands doing this one with just guitars, which is kind of lame, I think. Most listeners would like the sound of pedal steel doing it, in my opinion.
