Did Grady Martin ever play Steel Guitar? I went to Cowboy Lyrics to look at chords for Ray Price Night Life and they stated that the original has an excellent steel part played by Grady Martin. I thought Buddy E. was on the original.

I suspect Cowboy Lyrics is as inaccurate with crediting players as it is with providing lyrics.
Anytime I've gotten lyrics from them it's a must to refer to the source and make several corrections.

Buddy played the steel but Grady in fact had a hand in the steel part on Night Life as he was adjusting the tremolo on the amp while Buddy was playing ( through Grady's Magnatone ).
