The Everly Brothers' Let It Be Me on the Lap Steel
Like so many, I felt a sense of loss with Phil Everly’s passing. The Everly Brothers’ music was an essential part of my childhood and of my love for music. I decided to revisit one of my favorite tunes of theirs, “ Let It Be Me.†I’m using my six string lap steel’s C6th High G tuning for this arrangement. Hope you like it.

Enjoyed very much. Your slide has pedal like dynamics must be your technique.
Truly a great loss but isn't so true that we keep the music alive and some is totally ageless, still refreshing to hear today these tune like its new music.

Man! Wish I could see a video of your volume foot while you are playing this. I've been going back and forth between a Goodrich and an Edwards Light Beam pedal, trying to get a feel for those smooth, tasteful swells. I'm getting closer, but I sure don't sound that fine yet. Really like your Crazy Arms version, too. Thanks.

Hi Don,
Glad that you like the arrangement. Coming from a pedal steel background, the volume pedal has always been a part of my sound. A trick I discovered is to set the amplifer higher than I need and control the volume with my foot. This gives me more sustain, plus more control over the dynamics of the tune.
