Does anyone have any experience with the Maximatcher or Maxipreamp tube testers?

They certainly are pricy!

I have no experience with those units; however a friend hipped me to this very informative article on the subject of tube testers.

That is a good article Steven.

I had a good tube amp tech many years ago tell me this when I asked him about a tube tester.
He said " Your tube amp is your best tube tester"
I have come to find out over many years what he meant & he was right on saying that.

When my tubes start to lose volume and clarity they still test fine on a tube tester.
This goes for a clean tone.
Over driven or low-fi tones can run another 10 years or so.

I've used this one with good results it rates the tubes on a scale so you can match.
