Great Instrument
Posted this video a while back. I love his style and interpretation. The guitar is amazing I was very interested in getting one but the price is like 2 grand probably way worth it for live performances. Still researching on this great steel guitar seems you can bend notes change octaves like a pedal steel but its done with levers like vibrato lever on standard guitar..Would love to get more input from the forum if they have thoughts.. Michael

lower cost alternative...
Michael-
You can just buy the bender unit and put it on anything ....e.g., a Gretsch 5700, and there are other even-cheaper lap steels that it will fit on (e.g., rondo SX) - just needs to extend enough to the back to have room for the bender (made to fit a Telecaster).

Sounds way fun!!
Thanks Steve this will be a future project for sure with more research. Will keep an eye on sales too. Don't want to do anything to my tonemaster so will keep eyes open for a fixer upper that could be added to or maybe one that someone has all ready modified. Sounds like it would be great to play. Looks like you did some fine work making it your own, reading through the input on your guitar and what others wrote. Probably also gives you an advantage of having your own kind of style and some special chops to go with. Michael

Desicions --desicisions
Hi Steve thanks for the input. I think now i;m really considering more having two lap steels tied together a 5 string bass and a 8 string. Never played the 8 string yet but am really impressed what I have seen. Seems it would be easier to have a few tied together opposed to bending strings. This guitar seems to have a few issues that might be resolved or an ever ending conflict. But I;m open this is going to be my retirement passion I got a feeling. So I'm taking my time. Thanks for the great info. Michael
