left handed pedals steel

Post by Gerald Wiebe »

Hi everybody and Sesons greetings to you all. I'm a lefty living in Canada. Coming down to Yuma over Christmas and looking to buy a left handed pedal steel that I can pick up within 400 miles of Yuma or have shipped to Yuma. I get player withdrawls if I don't play steel guitar for a week or so. If any of you lefty's want to thin out your herd or know of anything for sale let me know. A double neck or 4 and 3 single is what I'm looking for. You can email me with your phone # call me at 1-306-290-5875 or respond on the forum. Can pay cash on pick up or pay pay pal etc. Best regards to you all. Gerald Wiebe

I know this isn't the subject, but I'm a lefty that plays just like Jimi Hendrix did. Most lefty guitarists can play something upside down due to necessity. most shops have 100 rightys and 2 crap leftys. So you just learn to play upside down. Jimi was great! legends aside, this is how he usually played..

But Ron, on steel it doesn't quite work that way, since the pedals would be on the wrong side of the guitar, and the pedal pull cranks and pedal stops can't easily migrate to the other end of the cross shafts.
You can sit on the other side of it only if you don't hook up the pedals...
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

took me a minute to figure out wth.
I was answering the referenced thread earlier on this thread
...There was mention of Jimi playing right-handed strung guitars. -I was pointing out that false urban legend.
Sorry
