John, if there is a D in the serial # it was made as a Double neck. If it has a ST it was a single neck on a double body. Most call this a SD, but Emmons called them Loafers or ST guitars (Single Neck on a Twin Body). Add an L to these and it is a LeGrande. GS was the student model, BR the Black Rock, M was an economy pro model and S was the single neck on a single body. The very early guitars had no letters, Chris Lucker could help date these. If the guitar was to be a single neck, the holes for the neck, head and changer mount were not drilled either. Hope this helps. _________________ Emmons D-10, ST-10,LD-10 III, NV-112,Fender Deluxe Reverb. Authorized wholesale dealer musicorp.com! |
