Billy Hew Len Video/Byrd, Issacs, Akaka Video

Post by Mike Ihde »

The video I have is called "Hawaiian Music, A National Identity in Sound" in which Billy Hew Len, along with Myra English and Sonny Chillingworth perform a live half hour set in the Blue Dolphin room. Billy plays great. The Steel history video is a must see with Jerry, Barney and Alan. If you'd like a copy of both shows, send $10 along with your mailing address to Mike Ihde box 446, Berklee College of Music, 1140 Boylston St. Boston MA 02215 or e-mail "thephotodoctor@mediaone.net"<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Mike Ihde on 08 November 2000 at 08:10 PM.]</p></FONT>

Thanks to all who wanted to see this bit of Steel guitar History. It's inspiring and educational. I play it for my students in my Steel Guitar Lab at Berklee and they really enjoy it. I especially play it for the rest of the guitarists who have NEVER heard Lap Steel played by the greats. It really gets them interested.

This is a great video. And for only $10.00,

Thanks for the video, Mike! There's some GREAT stuff in there! I think I'll move in next door to Jerry Byrd for awhile!
