Fuzzy PSG

I recently purchased what I think may be an original "Fuzzy" PSG. All pieces and parts are stamped "Fuzzy". Upon a visit to the Fuzzy web site and reading Mitsuo's profile I am almost convinced. It is a single 12 set up for E9/B6. According to the profile, he started to design and manufacture this guitar in 1969. Way ahead of its time by all my knowledge of the universal tuning approach. It has four floor pedals and two knees. The tuning shifter rod is missing but, other than that, it is in better than excellent condition. I probably paid too much for it but don't care. It plays easily and has a beautiful tone. I would appreciate any info any of you amy have on this guitar. I've tried to email fuzzypsg.com but have not gotten a response to date. I would like to get the missing part/s and restore it. It stands about 2" higher than my ShoBud and I will certainly have to replace the legs to play it comfortably. Again, any info will be greatly appreciated.

Carl, What do you mean by the "tuning shifter rod"? Do you mean a rod that connects with one of the floor pedals? Scotty's Music might be able to help.. he used to have a connection with Excel guitars which Mitsuo still makes. I also bid on that guitar...very retro & cool looking! Good luck. steve

Steve, the tuning shifter rod I'm referring to is the one that goes through the side of the body and locks the E's.

Carl,
You do NOT have to replace the legs. Take the FRONT legs and pull the TOP part out. This PLUG was PRESSED in, so it will come out. Then, take and mark the inch or two, or, how ever much you want to cut down with a PIPE cutter. No need to cut the rear ones because you can ajust those to your liking. Make sure you rotate the pipe cutter SLOWLY to make a fine, smooth cut, then take emory cloth or very light sand paper to take any "Slivers" off. Then replace the Plugs back into the top part of the legs, and you are set to go...Hope I saved you about $100.00 or so.

Then, if there is any "Marks" on the legs left, BUFF them out with a polishing wheel with some Polising compound....

Ron: You idea on the legs would be practical if they were adjustable. These are one piece so I'd have to cut all four.

All: I have exchanged emails with Mitsuo on the Fuzzy guitar I have. According to him, it was built around 1970 and only about 30 of them were made. However, much to my dissapointment, he says he has no parts available for it. Two of the fingers in the changer had visible stress and cracks. Upon disassembly and cleaning/polishing, the ends of the fingers that hold the string ball broke off. Needless to say, they're now useless. Does anyone out there have any Fuzzy parts or an old Fuzzy they'd like to get rid of? This thing has turned into a labor of love and I'd like to get it up and running, preferrably with all original parts.
