Craig, my latest "care package" from the US arrived, including the Li'l Izzy. Since I use a Hilton volume pedal I expected the benefits to be fairly mild. Man, was I wrong! A huge, instantly apparent difference in tone, clarity, and string separation. A crispness to the mids and highs beyond what I already had. Unlike some steelers, I keep my signal path pretty simple - volume pedal, DD, amp. Well, after 5 minutes I now can't imagine playing without a Li'l Izzy at the head of that chain.
Thanks,
Doug
Thanks,
Doug

Worth the wait?
Hi Douglas,
Just checked our files and see that your Li'l Izzy was shipped in early July. That's a long time to wait for a care package. Sure am pleased to learn that you like the sound. Thank you for your extended patience.
We often get questions as to whether Li'l Izzy will make any noticeable difference when using a Hilton, Telonics or other active pedal, so I'm also glad that you mentioned that in your post. No doubt your testimony carries more weight than mine ever could.
Again thank you Douglas and I hope Li'l Izzy serves you well for a long, long time.
Best personal regards,

freeloader then Izzy, then VP to amp
Craig Scwartz says..This works fantastic after the freeloader NOT before. Its as close to the pickup as possible and still able to adjust the freeloader tone and the Izzy will still do its job,
I agree with you I plug the free loader into the steel than plug the LIL Izzy into the output of the freeloader and get a great sound and the freeloader adjusts the tone to where I want it for different songs...this IMHO, is the way to go. Thanks again for your experimentation.

I got mine a little over a week ago and I can only echo all the great things that everyone has already said. Added clarity and string separation from low end to high end. Sweetened top end. Harmonics jump out. Easy to use (just plug it in to your steel and out to your v/p). Added bonus...Craig is a really nice guy and pleasure to do business with.

Chuck,
Have you been talking with my mother again?
Thank you so much for the kind words. Once in a while, I think: "Should I really go ahead and order more Li'l Izzy parts?"
Then I see a post like yours and I say to myself. . . "What A Wonderful World".
Thank you again Chuck, for inviting Li'l Izzy to be part of your sound, and I really appreciate your comments.
Sincerely,

Craig, you might as well retire from your "real" job and go off into the sunset making Li'l Izzys...

Sunset
Scott,
That "sunset" sounds pretty good, and "Happy Trails" always does well in surveys. Thank you.
Roger,
Thank you, I like the way you think. I better go plug in the soldering iron one more time.
Many thanks gentlemen.,

Thiel,
Thank you for your note. The Hilton and the Goodrich units are two devices that I have never used. So there is no way I could make an accurate comment. Perhaps someone with experience with them will post an answer to your question.
Again, thank you.

hi, some questions.
Is this ok for lapsteel?
If going to volume pedal (Ernie Ball) are you suggesting another buffer on the VP output.
If then going through a chained pedal board would you suggest another on the amp input? if the pedals are through a true bypass looper would you still suggest an output buffer on the amp input.
Am I right that using the Izzy with emg active pickups will make no difference.
Finally, please.
Can you pm me with the cost plus carriage of 1, 2 and 3 units to the uk thanks.

Li'l Izzy
Mr. Baker, I just received my Li'l Izzy today and had to FORCE myself to quit playing tonight so I can get up and go to work tomorrow! Man, this thing is amazing! I never would have thought such as small package would have such a HUGE effect on my sound. I am running like you recommend, guitar, Izzy, Black Box then NV400 volume pedal patches, Hilton pedal, TC Electronics Flashback delay, then Neunaber Stereo Wet Reverb. Yes, when first plugged in it did seem that a bit of treble had been added to my tone, but all I had to do to achieve a good sound was back off on the presence and treble a bit and add just a slight more bass. And just as you predicted, the increased sustain and string separation make it worth every penny!! After hearing the overall improvement with the Izzy I doubt I could make myself play without it; chimes are so easy to bring out with it also....Thank you so much for this product!! You and the Izzy are first class all the way! Thanks again, Roger
