OH man. Steve became a favorite of mine after I watched the You Tube video of him playing "Empty Glass" with Gary Stewart.
Here it is for those of you that haven't seen it before. I sure would like to know what effects he was using on this song.

Steve
Mark, thanks for posting "Empty Glass" Steve's ride is incredible and Gary Stewart was an incredible talent. I met Gary in 1976 when I was on the road with the Gage Twins band at Mr LUCKY's In Phoenix. Gary IMHO showed signs of a soon to be legend.

I DID enjoy that!!!! I've always liked that brand of pop/crossover music full af major 7ths and major 9ths - Ronnie Milsap and Keith Whitley come to mind - and this is another good example.
I don't know Gary but he's an interesting singer for sure. No need to dwell on Steve Palousek - one of the very best steel players on our planet and he plays with his usual good taste here.
I wish there were hits like this today...

Looks like Steve is changing a string in the background.

Mark, I was around Steve a little when he was about that age or maybe a little before. He did have an effects processor and I'm thinking it was a Peavey Pro-fects. At that time, he used delay and just a touch of chorus. His tone has always been exquisite.Mark Greenway wrote:OH man. Steve does also get on the forum every now and then. He is one of the best on the planet but don't tell him I said that, LOL.

Hey Mark & guys,
Steve P. is one of my closest friends and no, he doesn't get on the forum too much. Donna, his wife does get on here however. I'll give him a note this week and tell him to look at this post. It will tickle him to see the compliments. He is a wonderful steeler and a great guy, and by the way is helping me at my steel school in February if anyone wants to learn some good C6 stuff.
Later,
Larry T
