| I've been doing a little research on George L pickups. I know EON pickups are made with iron blades. I've always thought the PF and 10-1 pickups were made with the iron blades as well. If that's the case, what would be the difference in an EON and a 10-1 12 string pickup in which both are 19.5 ohms? Does George L use different blades other than stainless steel and iron? Or maybe they use a different size wire for pickups. I would be interested to find out. |

Dean, without researching what you've mentioned in the windings, I thought the EON was wound to the same resistance as the E-66 only using iron blades and the E-66 using stainless. I know the 10-1 and SS-10 are wound to the same resistance but the SS-10 uses stainless blades. I used 10-1's for several years until trying the SS-10's. I got all the range with more clarity and crisp tone. I have had an EON on one steel in the past, think it was a carter or MCI, but I really liked it much better compared to the brightness of the E-66.

| Yes, that is the difference between the EON and the E-66 is the blades. But my question is about the difference in the 12 string EON and the 12 string 10-1. The resistance reads the same for both pickups and I'm assuming the same blades are being used in both pickups. So other than that, what would be the difference for George L to advertise on their website that you can get an EON for a 12 string and a 10-1 for a 12 string if they were basically the same pickup? If there is a difference, that is what I am trying to find out. |

| Dean, I have had both the EON and the 12-1 in my Carter. I found the EON to be very bright compared [in my opinion,] to the more balanced tone of the 12-1. I compared my 12 string EON to a 10 string E-66 in my friend's Carter and found them to sound identical. The people at "George L" told me they use thinner wire on the EON than on the 12-1. |

| Thank you George for your reply. I thought there had to be some reason. I may have to call George L to find out more information on the differences in some of their pickups other than just resistance readings. |
