Hello Fellow Steelers,
Just a quick note to announce our November 10th Steel Jam at 1:30pm at the Merkel Middle School Auditorium. We haven't had a jam for about 4 months now, and everyone is geared up and ready to get together for an afternoon of STEEL. We will have the Wildfire Band (myself, Kacey Toliver, Dwayne Pack, and Todd Baird) there ready to back you up on your set. If you would like to perform, please give me a call and we'll get you on the list. I already know Danny Letz, Randell Palmore, and yours truly will be ready to go. Give me a call if you need directions, and I'll post them in a few days for those who don't know where it is. It is always a good time with lots of country music with some nice steel to complement it.

Hope to see you there!

I'll be there but I might be a little late - church usually runs until 1pm. I will be there to listen - not up to playing entire songs yet Very Happy
I'll need to know where the middle school is located too
Thanks

It's a block over from where the school was held.

I've been so busy I don't know which way is up, but I plan to be there and play. My playing will make Larry and Randall and the other guys look better. I'll be ready for a break from work by then.

Well guys.....
Danny, Randell, and myself have had several things come up for the upcoming steel jam. There are about 5 players that can not be there because of conflicts, and we are going to move the jam to November. I'm checking with several of the guys who are wanting to come....but it will not be the weekend of the 27th of October. We are all anxious to pick, but it will have to wait a couple of weeks. Thanks for understanding.

Well brother steelers....
It looks like a good day for the West Texas Steel Guitar Association. We've got Danny Letz coming, Leon Langley coming, Shady Mitchell coming (and Debbie too), Randall Palmore coming, Randy Hughes coming, Brian Hall coming, and ....yours truly L. Toliver also will be there for a great afternoon of STEELIN'. The WIldfire Band will also be there to help everyone out. If you haven't contacted me and want to play...let me know soon, as we only have a couple of spots left. Come with us and lets have a grand time. Sunday November the 10th at 1:30 at the Merkel Middle School Auditorium.

Just talked to Larry... there's still spots available, so I'm headed to Merkel! Looking forward to jamming with the West Texas bunch. I'll be bringing my buddy Wes Pyburn from Sweetwater... he's the man behind the Texas Theater preservation effort, recently featured on the Big Country Homepage website:

http://www.bigcountryhomepage.com/story/sweetwater-singer-songwriter-workshop-hits-high-note/d/story/_INOXigvG0-sQxLPhQLyug

... he's really interested in putting on an 'evening of steel guitar' show at the Texas, so I'm looking forward to getting all y'all together. Let's have fun!

After this week of working from litteraly daylight to dusk, I'm ready for a little deversion. May be a little droopy from playing in San Angelo Saturday night, but I'll be there ready to help in any way I can.

It was a very good jam. Thanks to the Tolivers for their hospitality. I should have known that if I attended in my work clothes, there would be pictures taken. Man what a bunch of great guys and gals and great musicians.

I really enjoyed the jam! It was nice to see and hear some great local (or semi-local) players. As a newbie I try to get around people I can emulate and learn from.

Danny - It was great to meet you and don't worry about the work clothes - your playing was fantastic - and that's what I came for!!

Larry - thanks for putting the Jam on and the words of encouragement - it means a lot to a new player to get good advice
