Been watching Lloyd on you tube and noticed he uses his RKL and LKR together a lot.
Any ideals as to what he is doing.
He is playing the JCH guitar in these clips.
Thanks for your thoughts |

According to www.b0b.com/tunings/green.htm he raises 4&8 on LKR and lowers 2 with RKL. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

Thanks Lane. I checked that out and that got me more curious. Because sometime he would engauge the RKL by itself but he would be on strings somewhere from 6 through 10 maybe. I didn't know if on the JCH if he did something a little different or not.
If you get the chance check out "Look At Us" on youtube,
with Lloyd and Jeff Newman and you will see him use those two levers together and RKL by itself.
Would like to hear your thoughts on it when you have time.
Thanks |

This is my favorite Lloyd Green You-Tube clip.
I would have bet the house against it. But he does appear to lower string 9 a 1/2 step at 208-209.
But that's the only place I hear the 9th string lower.
Disclaimer. It's late and my old ears ain't as good as they once were.

Thanks Bobby, I know the feeling about the ears.
I've watched that clip a lot and knew he was doing something. I have also noticed in the clip that he will use the RKL and LKR together also.
What can we say, Its Lloyd Guess its time I go to the woodshed again |

Steve you may already do this. If not it will help you get a lot more mileage out of the 2nd string whole tone lower. But use the 2nd string whole tone lower where you normally use the A pedal 5th string raise. In the no pedals position it free's up the 5th while giving you easy access to the 6th note of the scale. The second string lower works with about any pedal-knee lever combo I can think of at this late hour.
It's kinda like being able to split the A pedal changes. Hope this makes sense. |

Thanks Bobby, I never have used that one, but I will.
It makes sense, I just have never thought of it or really heard about it to be honest.
Thanks |
