Can someone list off popular country songs recorded within the last five years that feature the C6 tuning?

This is not a fire-starting questions, 'cause I'm well aware of the E9/C6 debate.

Just need a list for listening reference.

Garths "Long Neck Bottle" for one.

Any others?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Nick -

"Popular" is the key word. Alan Jackson has done a handful ("She's got the Rhythm (And I've got the Blues"), "Who's Cheatin' Who", "Must of Had a Ball Last Night"), etc. While these may not have gotten airplay, he's a popular artist.

Dwight Yoakam also:

"Heartaches are Free", "World of Blue", etc.

George Jones:

"Small Y'all"

These are just a handful....hope this helps some.....

Wariner's 'Burning The Roadhouse Down' was on C6th, but it was ten years ago - doesn't seem that long, though....

I think that a lot of the electric "slide guitar" licks you hear on "country" radio are actually C6th pedal (or lap) steel. C6th is great for that kind of stuff.

"Burnin' the Roadhouse Down" by Steve Wariner & "Farm Boy Blues" by Darrell McCall are both Buddy playing C6.

"No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem" by Kenny Chesney.
I know Jim Bob Garrett plays steel in his band... does Kenny use his band on the CD and Video recordings?
Who played the steel on this tune?
Nice stuff!

That's Sonny on Kenny's new single playing C6th. He's great!
George Strait's "I want to dance with you" has Paul playing C6th also.

Pete,

Sonny Garrish does the Chesney dates.

B0B,

You are right. "Beer for my horses" is C6th slide. I use the C6th for all my slide work. Over the past few years I have played almost as much slide as I have pedal. That's OK by me 'cause I dig the instrument.
