Back in the late 70's I would go see Pee Wee and his band 'The other Brothers'at a club in Lafayette, La. The group included his brother in law Merton who was a fine piano player and singer. The main singer was a guy named Ronnie Rue who was just incredible when singing Ray Price songs. One night I had the great fortune to hear Pee Wee's first wife Doy sing and was amazed by her beautiful voice. Pee Wee was playing a blonde Pro II at that time through a fender twin with JBL's, he truly is a gifted steeler, his right hand technique was and is flawless. The bands last sets often included country jazz material and it was truly a privilege to hear Pee Wee and his band. I wish him all the best and hope he continues to appear at many SG conventions. Play on brother!
