Sammy doesn't carry a steel player now. In the '90s, a man from Billings, Montana named Jim Bob Gairrett was Sammy's steel player. Jim Bob is now touring with Kenny Chesney as his road steeler. When Kenny took a break from touring in 2010, Jim Bob played a few shows with Sammy in December of 2010.

Is the above still the case a year + later? We have a chance to see Kershaw next weekend, and while I like his music enough to go even without a steel, our schedule will make attending tough. If there's a steel and if things fall right we might make a little extra effort.

Thanks!

Pretty much a George Jones clone. But he isn't getting the big venues so maybe not enough money to carry a steel.
