All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down
OK, I've searched for this Mavericks song and somebody already got flamed pretty bad for asking, and so take it easy on me. I have been playing this tune for several months now and would realy like to get some of the voicings that Paul Franklin uses. I'm a beginner and have been getting better at picking things like this out but this one really has me stumped. There are a couple breaks in the middle of the song and again at the outro. I've come close using dyads with the A pedal plus F lever and sliding down to the open position and also the BC pedals down to to the open position, but dont like what I am hearing. Is he using a C6 tuning? Any tips would be appreciated?
Hey Paul, which breaks are you having trouble with? What are the times? I'm pretty sure he's using an E9th tuning, there is definitely some BC pedal stuff and he's also doing some cool open string licks off the A chord, I think I remember figuring this out and being able to do it with a pretty standard setup. If you give me some times I'll try and transcribe a couple licks for you.
Wrong Song
Hey Paul, Sorry I was thinking of "There Goes My Heart" That one is much easier to play, That sounds like a C6th tuning after all in "All you ever do" Sorry about the mixup! Good luck

All You Ever Do
This is totally played on the E9th neck. I have the tab on an old hard drive. I tabbed it for my friend and student Andy Zahn in Switzerland while on one of my many Euro tours.
I'll try to find some time and do some digging for you.

Hey Roger,
I sent you a Private Message.
Ok...I have edited this twice now because I have actually sat down and re-learned this solo. It is not hard, but it is not exactly as I had previously described. I will try to tab it out later, but the solo opens on the 16th to the 17th fret, no pedals, strings 3 and 4. Then same strings 11 to 12th fret with A & B pedals down. Then 11 to 12th fret on strings 4 and 5 with pedals. There is a simple lick on 12 that leads to the E chord, then to the 7th fret over the E chord. It sounds like the 2nd half of the solo over the E chord is with the B and C pedals.
It is confusing to describe, but I will try to tab it out later.

Thanks, Andy & Writing onThe Wall
Andy, thanks, so much for tabbing this out. Paul, the only dumb question is the one not asked. I'd say if you were flamed, it was perhaps by a flaming ^9%$##)-hole, so just ignore that person.
Presently, I'm working on The Mavericks tune, "Writing on The Wall" and have about 75% of it done. Am trying to figure out the best way to post this tab as I don't have TabEdit. I think Frank Freniere scans all his many tabs, so I will try that. stevet

writing on the wall
Hey Steve, any chance of you posting the tab for writing on the wall? I'm just starting to work on that one and could really use some help.
