Great stuff

I would say that if you can learn every steel lick on this record .. you have completed learning the instrument.

Might be easier with the bar at the 2nd fret for the 6th string manipulations.

Holding Things Together

Post by Chris Tweed »

Just wondering if anybody has had a go at tabbing out the solo in Holding Things Together? The ascending run in the second half of the break is just sublime. If I can learn to play that, I will be a very happy man.

Ok Chris, I'll take a shot at it. I know this can't be right on. Anything that sounds that good on the recording, I can't imagine would be this simple. But it'll work. You guys with better ears feel free to bleed on it. I'd like to get it right.

Harold, thank you so much for another great tablature. I've spend many hours of learning from your fantastic "Bakersfield Bound" transcriptions which have given me so many great rides and tons of inspiration :D !

Found a typo. On the second page of the solo where it goes to the 18th fret, it should be the 19th fret.

Anyone try Fightin Side? I really like the "run down" part of that solo.

Oh and on the first of the intro of Holdin' Things Together, it should read 9B to 9AB. Guess I oughta do a better job of proofreading before I post anything.

Harold, thanks so much for doing this. I wasn't expecting anyone to respond so I haven't checked the thread for a few days. This looks great. I'm going to work on it this evening. Thanks again.

I think Franklin agrees that he is still learning and he knows all those licks. ;)

Anyone who is willing to tab out 'He don't Deserve you Anymore' would make me a very happy man. :)

This is one kicka$$ album! Paul Franklin sure nailed down that Bakersfield style!

Thanks for this thread guys, I'm just getting to the point where I can take a good stab at some of these classic moves without making the dog pee on the rug. This record rip or what!
