Would installing a supersustain MSA pu really sound much different than the pu that came with the guitar from the Factory.Maybe REESE ,can you answer this for me,or anyone..Thanks Carl

I have a Tele plus telecaster, Larrivee acoustic. Also have a Fender resonator guitar with new Quarterman cone and spider, and an Allan tailpiece .Playing through a Fender Super Champ XD, using a little delay on the amp and a Harmonix Holy Grail Echo pedal, set on Hall turned to about 1pm.Just Bought a Yamaha FGX5 Recently and love it. Recently got a Sho-NUFF 6 string pedal steel in open G.Still learning.Just bought back my old SX lap steel that i modified, in open G |

I'm sorry for the misspelled name of Mr. Reece,i knew i just did not check my spelling.Sooo sorry to hear of his passing as i just talked to him about a month ago.Thanks for the update.He is an icon and a legend.

| I swapped out the pickups in my early 70's MSA and it made no difference at all. It still sounded like an MSA. |

| I changed mine out some time ago to a BL 710 and it made a significant difference... for the better. |

I went from an E-66 to an 18.5 TrueTone in a lacquer 12. Became much brighter than my Zum. upon reassembly, it's getting a Hoffnar ToneAligner. I'll give a review once I get her together.
And Chris, I wouldn't get too worked up: Junior Knight spelled with an S on Facebook yesterday.
Or, as one of the enforcers of the E in John Duffey, carry on.

Hey Carl,
I have a '77 D 10 Classic with E 66's and they are much brighter than the original Super Sustains. The MSA pick ups were not potted and became super microphonic. They were humbuckers and were very mellow. I have another guitar but the MSA is still my favorite. It plays good and sounds good.
