New Player Hello, Williams S12 Wide Body Image

Post by Matthew Beall »

Hello,
I've been following this forum for a couple of years without posting anything. I just got my new guitar, a Williams S12, pictured below. I play just a little C6 lap steel and the pedal steel will be pretty much a new experience for me.

Beautiful steel Matthew!! You've come to the right place! There is more knowledge here than any one person could ever absorb, and best of all its given out by great musicians and friendly folks who actually "walk the walk". I was a newbie too at one time and I can never thank all of the forum members enough for their help. I'm still learning every day and the best advice I can offer is " learn to use the search button" and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck!

Thats a beauty. E's lowered with the lever and you're in B6 tuning. Enjoy!

I just bought a brand new Williams 700 Keyless SD 12 Universal. Lacquer body wooden neck all in Burnt Orange. Have the Lace Alumitone Pick Up. Got all the options, she is loaded up for bear. I just love the sound of the Universal. I started 8 months ago on a Rittenberry SD-10 but once I learned what you could do on a UNI and heard them I had to have one. It is home and starting lesson in a few weeks after I get to know the guitar better.

Where I LIve

I'm in Fairfax, VA, up near the Hot Air Capitol of the World. I'm fortunate in that Billy Cooper's is just a couple hours away from here, but I'm cursed with traffic that would drive a Zen Buddhist around the bend.

You can never learn with that steel guitar. However, I will take it off your hands so you can get another.

Just kidding! Beautiful guitar! Very good choice.

I started off with just a little C6, too. It's a whole new ball game with the mechanics and right hand, but its completely addicting and fun, and wowza! That is a nice steel.
Good to have you here, Matthew.
