Wanted -HELICOIL® Size for 1970 D-10 Emmons

Post by basilh »

Could anyone tell me the thread size for the leg sockets on a 1970 D-10 Emmons...and...what the eqivalent "HELICOIL®" repair kit number is.

I'm just getting fed-up of the guitar wobbling it's way across the stage !!

Baz.

I don't know what the Helicoil number would be, but the "standard" leg thread that Emmons, Sho-Bud, and most manufacturers use is 1/2-13.

The kit, part number, for a Recoil UNC 1/2-13 is 33080. It includes the tap, insert tool and 5 inserts, It does not include the 17/32 drill you'll need.

If there is enough thread left to where you can snug up the leg, it might be wobbling because it isn't seated or the insert in the top of the leg (microphone stand) is loose.
