RIP Johnny Rhinehart

Post by Gary Carriger »

Lost a great South Texas musician this morning. Sad to post that Johnny Rhinehart passed away this morning. Those who were ever exposed to his playing respected him and his talent. I am proud to have known him and called him a friend. RIP John

I am devastated to hear this. The strange thing is that I just posted on the Forum last week to try to find Johnny - we hadn't spoken in a number of years. I worked with Johnny in Freddy Fender's band for a few years. He really took me under his wing and was always incredibly kind and caring. And few people could play Texas swing like Johnny.

Johnny, thank you for everything. Please rest in peace! Love ya, my friend. Boo
