I'm trying to decide on the placement of 5 pedals on a 12 stg extended E9th guitar that I'll soon have.
I want to have a "0" pedal (G#-G) and the PF pedal(5,6,10 whole tone drop) in addition to the standard ABC Emmons pedals. I have been reading old posts that recommend putting the PF pedal on the left of ABC so you can switch from PF to AB easily. I have the PF change on my 75PP on the 4th pedal and the idea of getting on and off it and on to the AB combo seems like the same move as going AB to BC. Anyone do it this way?
What if I were to put the "0" pedal in the 1st position where the "A" normally go's, then the PF pedal in the "normal" B pedal spot and then the standard ABC in the 3rd, 4th, 5th position? Seems like this would put the ABC directly in front of my left knee and keep me more centered behind the guitar. I think b0b said that the pedals on his Williams 5/5 are more in the center of the pedal rack and it was very comfortable that way. Am I correct on that b0b?
Would I be giving up any combination use's of the "0" pedal if it was on the left end?

Bill Rudolph could verify this, but I think that the 5 pedals on the Williams 400X are similar in position to pedals 2 through 6 on a standard D-10.
I think that putting G# to G on "pedal 0" is a good idea.

If the E's raise/lower on left knee.
PF ped is used w E's-Eb so it goes to the right of A B & C.
G#-G is used w A ped for a minorb5 or w E's to F alone so it goes to the left of A pedal.

G#-G will have a combination w 2&9 - C# so that dictates if it goes to the left or right of A B & C.

Bengt, yes I have E's + & - on the left knee, so it sounds like I should use the "0"-ABC-PF layout. That was my first thought, but some of those old posts about having PF next to the A pedal got me thinking of going that way with the set-up. I really learned alot from some of your posts on Extended E9th and I was hoping you would see my question and jump on here, thanks for the input.

I can tell, you what I have. I USED to have the G# to G on a "0" pedal (all the way on the left), but I moved it to a LKL on the inside as Crawford has.
My pedal 4 is the 5th to C# and the G# to A-- like pedal 1 but without the 3rd and 10th string. I got this idea from Bill Keith a long time ago. It works well by itself, and in combo with pedal 3 AND with Pedal 5-- which I use to take the 6th G# up to a Bb.
As for others, I'm not sure. You can trty to transpose some of the C6th changes to a B6th and see what you get.

SIERRA! I had an E9th/B6th Session S-12 that I played for 3 yrs and just never felt "at home" with out the D string. It was a single body and keyless too.
My new guitar will be 5/5 S-12 extended E9th on a double frame with Grover keys.
