Are there any 8 channel digital recorders capable of recording live on all 8? And, with enough storage? _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

Dennis my Korg D3200 will record 8 tracks at once, storage depends on the size of the Hard Drive. Mine is 250 gig.. but they come originally with 40 or 80 gig.. & they hold lots of songs, & I find it very user friendly.. |

There are many..but you may want to look at the Zoom R16 or R24, storage is an SD card ...individual track files are wave files. Not loaded up with gobs of frills but certainly good workhorse units..excellent prices.. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

+1 on the Zoom R16!
I just got a second one, here's why:
• Two units can be linked via USB for 16 simultaneous tracks in record.
• An inexpensive 32 Gb SDHC card stores almost 9 hours of simultaneous 8 track recording (4 hours continuous).
• It is silent in use, since there is no drive.
• It has lots of built in effects, features and processing.
• The .wav files can also easily be transferred and imported into a DAW for mixing.
• It can record 44.1 kHz at 24bit internally and 96kHz if used as an audio interface.

Agree with Tony and Clete - a Zoom R16 / R24 will get the job done. |

After reading reviews and observing the flexibility of the units, I settled on the R-16. I also picked up a tutorial dvd. So, I'm good to go.
Thanks for all of the input. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

Gary, I don't think I could coordinate that many musicians at one time. Definiitely not in my house. Plus, I'd have to buy a few more mic's. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

Yep. It gets crowded. To make room, we all play 1/2 of 2 different instruments. I, for example, pick the banjo while playing chords on the mandolin. It gets confusing. Next week, we're going to add a tuba and make it 101 tracks. No sure who's going to blow into it yet. (It won't be me.) _________________ Gary Shepherd
