Sho-Bud Pro III D 10 with 8x4 - Priced to sell

Post by Brandon Schafer »

I have a very early Sho-Bud Pro III D 10 for sale. Priced to sell at $1450 + shipping. I'm in the Indianapolis area if you'd care to pick it up (preferred). Paypal add 3%.

It has a lot of neat features that most Pro IIIs do not have. It has the wood inlay on the front apron. It also has the double raise and single lower changer. The changers are in good shape. Both necks have great sounding George L's E-66 pickups.

The E9 neck works fine and the E's raise and lower on the left knee levers.

The C6 neck needs a little work. I have never played it and it needs set up. All the parts are there - see undercarriage pictures - but some of the pedals don't seem to do much. I'm sure it is not a hard thing to fix, but I have admittedly not messed with it.

It has been refinished at some point in it's life, before I ever got ahold of it. It is a prettier green than it looks - the lower right corner of the apron that faces the player is what it looks like all over in person. There is a bit of corrosion on the legs and where the rods connect to the pedals, but nothing too terrible. The case is not gorgeous, but it works.

An easy one to fix up the C6 or ready to be made into a E9 with a pad - your choice.

Hey Brandon, what's the guitar's weight in and out of case?

Hi Nash. Unfortunately, I don't have very accurate bathroom scales for weighing something like this, so I cannot give you a very accurate reply.

I'll see if I can work something up and weigh it elsewhere in the next few days.

To everyone else - I'm pretty sure this is a screamin' deal on a cool Sho-Bud. This is your doorway to classic sounding Sho-Bud goodness that won't break the bank!!!

Here are 3 detailed pictures in order of the undercarriage. It's all there from what I can tell. I've had some questions about the rod that appears "bent" on the C6 side. It appears very purposefully bent to me to weave around some of the other mechanics around there. But, you could set it up as you prefer.

Thanks, Charlie! I agree, the Pro IIIs are nice. This Sho-Bud combined with the George L's E-66's really deliver that classic 70's tone.

Wish I had the Christmas tree amp! :D

Brandon, I had a Pro III that was all original (almost everything was cast metal); it weight 82 pounds in the case. From what I'm seeing in these photo's, this may be a rebuild at some point, so it could be a little less, but not by much. These Pro III's are terrific sounding guitars; but they were super heavy. My Pro III was originally Smoke colored, (transparent black), and it too turned a weird shade green over the years; probably from all of the tobacco smoke it absorbed on Honky Tonk gigs...

I had a black one with aluminum necks on it. With an E 66 pickup on the E9 neck. Really sounded sweet.

No. When it was refinished, they were lost.

Sho-Bud fun could be yours to have.

This was top of the line in the 70's!

It looks like RKR works both necks. That's a nice feature.
