Ricky: They did some work on my right eye last week but if the other one is doing me right, the color of the Sho-Bud and your SSHawaiian look like a perfect match. Now I'll have to go back in to Humor and delete those Blonde jokes I posted ! Image Image

Nice One!

I have a nearly identical axe.
Mine is a 3x2 B6th now.
These steels sound killer for 6th stuff!...(obviously, for 9th stuff as well!).
I hooked mine up with the standard Boo-Wha, P5, P6, on the floor, and P7, and B to Bb, on LKR and RKL respectively.

What a great looking Pedal Steel Guitar!
(They play and sound great too!)

I played a Pro I for 2 years, before I changed to a Pro III. Standard red color. That was the best sounding steel I ever owned, and I wish I still had it today. It had much better tone for E9th than my Pro III did.
This Pro I looks particularly nice. Did you also do the finish on it Rick? If so, you did a very nice job.

Ricky,

You do beautiful work! It's sooo purty.

Are you planning on doing complete refinishes in the future?

Thanks for the GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome Image

All the best,

Dennis

Thanks Guys and I guess Corey can name her what ever he wants....but I name aaalll my Steels>"Brandy"...after the most beautiful woman in the world>
Image
I don't do re-finish...and probably never will as I don't have the means or time here at my house.
If a guitar is too far gone and needs stripping and sanding and staining and finish....I'll send it off to a professional I know here who actually did the finish on my SS HAWAIIAN.
I do however.....RE-condition the existing finish that is on it....and most the time that's all you need to do to bring the shine and life back into a 30 year old steel.
Pete> yes indeed these steels sound wonderful...for any tuning...

Ricky - I'm sure you've been asked this before. How do you polish the aluminium on those old ShoBuds - by hand or buffing machine?

"SCOOTER"...That has to be the new nickname for Rickie "Scooter" Davis.

You have to be riding one of those to get into 24 hours a day what you do. Heck, I know you're a super guitar refinisher, and that can be learned, but how in the heck do you manage your time in order to get in golf, teaching, tours, guitar rebuilds, and local gigs? That's what I want to learn. Image

Here you've put out 2 super rebuilds in the last month and I'm still applying the 3rd coat of lacquer to this Marlen SD-12 I'm doing. C'mon guy tell us the secret. Image

That's a nice picture of Brandy you put up there, Ricky.

You know, If you stare at it long enough, you can see an illusion of a lap steel also.

Have fun with that beautiful guitar!
